The following pictures demonstrate the actual procedure that is involved with the implantation of the X STOP. The procedure is done either under local or general anesthetic with the patient recovering and leaving for home the same day.

A small incision is made in the middle of the patient’s back and the spinous process is exposed on both sides. A hole is creating through the loose tissue that is between the two spinous processes.
